Children’s Bible Study
Sunday Morning 9:00 am
(Preschool – 6th Grade)
The Bible, God’s Word, is the ground
and guide for educating our children at First Baptist Church. We
prayerfully work to impart the truth by acquainting children with
the whole Bible, presenting the Bible as a revelation of the
character and work of God and encouraging children to develop a
Biblical mindset and a Christian worldview. Our focus is to
encourage children to trust in the character and promises of God and
help them to respond to Him in repentance and faith. We desire that
children cultivate a love for the Word of God, respond to it in
faith, and live in obedience to it.
The home is the primary place of
spiritual education and our desire is to come along side parents to
cultivate a personal walk with Jesus Christ.

Awana Ministry
Wednesday Evenings 6:00 pm –
7:30 pm
(Meets throughout the school year)
Awana is a children’s and youth ministry that
is committed to reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus
Christ and trains them to serve God. Awana is an acronym for Approved
Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken form 2
Timothy 2:15.
At First Baptist Church we have three age group
Clubs: Sparks (Kindergarten – 2nd Grade), Truth and
Training (Grades 3 – 6), and Trek (Grades 7 -8). All of our Awana
Clubs meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. The Clubs
meet throughout the school year.
For more information on our Awana Clubs, please
call the Church office at 647-8575.
Vacation Bible School
June 7th – June 11th,
2010
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Vacation Bible School has been a long time
favorite ministry at First Baptist Church. This ministry is set in
the 1st century during the life and times of Jesus. The
children have a time of instruction in a large group setting and
then separate into individual tribes (the 12 tribes of Israel)The
children have a time of New Testament instruction and application in
their tribes, a time of learning songs, and a stop at the Immanuel
Marketplace to make crafts and hear biblical stories about their
craft (this is always a favorite of the children). It is always a
fun action packed week. The week culminates with a Commencement
Service on the Sunday evening following VBS. The children sing the
songs they have learned and quote the Scriptures they have been
memorizing throughout the week.
Our VBS is for children ages 4 (must be 4 by
July 1st) to 12 (those just completing the 6th
grade may participate. Registration begins May 1. You may register
your children by calling the church office at 647-8575.
The theme for our 2010 VBS is “Jesus – Author
and Finisher of Our Faith” from Hebrews 12:2 which says “Let us fix
our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Praise Factory
Wednesdays during the Summer
June 16th – August 4, 2010
6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Praise Factory is our summer children’s
program for children ages 4 – 12. This ministry has many of the
components of the other children’s ministries, such as: Bible
teaching, Scripture memorization, singing, and crafts. However, we
take a little more light-hearted, less-intense approach for the
summer. We are still serious about the Lord and Scripture, but we
are less intense with the Scripture memorization that they receive
in Awana and Bible Drills. We enjoy character skits, puppets and a
great music time together.
This year’s theme is a western theme titled
“Round Up the Sin Gang.” We will learn that God wants us to be
obedient to Him and to put sin away.

Bible Drills
Sunday Evenings
January – May
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The purposes of the Children’s Bible Drill are
to help children:
1. Increase in knowledge of the Bible.
2. Develop skills in locating Bible books and
Key Passages.
3. To memorize the names of the books of the
Bible in order
4. Learn how to apply the Bible to their
lives.
This is a tremendous ministry that helps
children become familiar with their Bible and to help them learn how
to effectively use their Bible. The children prepare to participate
in a church-wide drill off, an Associational drill off, and can
progress to a state-wide drill off. The competition is fun, but
most importantly the children learn to hide God’s Word in their
hearts.
