Where Will the Giving Go?

International Missions - 60%
(Lottie Moon Offering for the International Mission Board)



- Through this offering we support over 5,000 missionaries on the field.
- 100% of the offerings received go directly to the cause of overseas 
     international missions.
- A small portion of our Cooperative Program designated offerings also goes to
     support international missions.




North American Missions - 20%
(Annie Armstrong Offering for the North Amer. Mission Board)  

- Through this offering we support more than 5,000 missionaries that serve in
      the United States, Canada, and the U.S. territories
- 71% - Missionary Salaries and Support; 18% Church Planting;
     11% Evangelism Projects.
- A small portion of our Cooperative Program designated offerings also goes to
     support North American missions.




Direct Missions - 10%
(FBC Going to the Field)

 
- This offering is used to help supplement a portion of our needs for trips and
     projects that we are personally involved with such as: (Mexico, Michigan,
     Kidz Klubz, Community Outreach, Prison Ministry, etc.)
- The majority of the funding for Direct Missions comes from our regular
     budget tithes.
- Our church has designated 3.5 percent (3.5% for 2008) of its offerings toward
     Global Missions Going. In 2007, this amount was approx.$28,000.




The LA Baptist Convention - 5%
(Georgia Barnette Offering for Louisiana Missions)

- Some of the missions and ministries supported by this offering include:
     language missions, disaster relief, church starts, and special missions and
     ministries (multi-housing, crisis pregnancy, resort missions, and French
     radio)
- The majority (65%) of our Cooperative Program designated offerings stay in
     Louisiana to help support missions, ministries, and  other SBC agencies and
     institutions.



Strategic Missions Partnerships - 5%

- This offering is used for missionaries and ministries that we support directly
     such as: (Trans World Radio, Culture Keepers Int'l, Impact Int'l, etc)

Cooperative Program

In addition to our special missions offerings, “over and above” the weekly operating expenses of our church (tithe), our church also designates a significantly generous portion of our regular operating budget toward mission causes and education through the “Cooperative Program.” Our church designates 20% of its total received dollars to the Cooperative Program. Through the Cooperative Program, SBC churches support missions and ministries of the state convention and other SBC entities. The Louisiana State Convention keeps 65% of all Cooperative Program money received from our church. Of that 65%, 13% is used for missions and mission causes. Of the remaining 35% of our cooperative program giving, the International Mission Board receives 17.5%. The other 17.5% goes to the North American Mission Board and other SBC agencies and institutions. The North American Mission Board uses 8% for missions, the rest is used for our 6 seminaries, the annuity board, and other SBC agencies.
