In partnership with Parkvew Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, First Baptist Church of Gonzales will host its South Louisiana Pastors’ Conference on January 23-24, 2026. The theme is "Theological Triage: Thinking Through Doctrinal Differences." Our guest speaker is Dr. Rhyne Putman, Professor of Theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Among Rhyne’s published works are; Conceived by the Holy Spirit: The Virgin Birth in Scripture and Theology (2024); A Method of Christian Theology: A Basic Introduction (2021); When Doctrine Divides the People of God: An Evangelical Approach to Theological Diversity (2020). Other speakers include: Brandon Langley, Matthew Delaughter, Chris DeGeorge, & James Law.
The cost of the conference is $50 per person, with discounts for available for repeat attendees. The conference includes dinner on Friday, breakfast on Saturday, and a gift bag for all attendees. A bookstore is also available, featuring a selection of helpful resources.
