Dr. James B Law, Senior Pastor

Dr. Law serves as an Elder and as our senior pastor. Dr. Law is charged primarily with corporate teaching and preaching ministry. He provides leadership to the ministerial staff and offers pastoral care to the congregation. He and his wife, Gwynne, have six children, Lydia Law Miller, Naomi Law McGalliard, Daniel, Miriam Law Rogge, Nathan, and Esther.

John Finney, Worship Pastor

John and his wife Jennifer have recently arrived from their former home and church in Connecticut. The Finneys are accomplished musicians and love to encourage others to use their gifts in service to the Lord. John and Jennifer have four daughters.

Jarrod Lamberth, Associate Pastor

Jarrod Lamberth came to First Baptist as a student in 1994. After serving as an intern, he began full-time ministry as Minister to Students in 2003. Jarrod now serves as our Associate Pastor. Jarrod and his wife, Nell, have four children: Jesse, Rebekah, Ethan, and Allyson.

Alex Rea, Student Ministry

Alex loves working with teenagers to lead and equip them to know what they believe, why they believe it, and how to share it with others. As they grow to become more like Christ each day, they can reach out to their peers, neighbors, and the rest of the community with the gospel. Alex and his wife, Hannah, have one son, Carter and one daughter, Addison.

Jeremy Starnes, Family Discipleship

The primary focus for the Minister of Family Discipleship is to direct discipleship ministry to parents and children and oversee the ministries to our children. His wife is Sommer. They have five sons: Noah, Jude, John, Luke, and Seth; and three daughters: Anna, Sara, and Mary.

Craig Calhoun, Lay Elder

Craig is an engineer at one of our local chemical plants. Craig and his wife Angie serve in many ministries at FBCG, including our Awana and music ministries. They have 2 sons: Matthew & Micah; three grandsons and three granddaughters.

Dr. Lonnie Luce, Lay Elder

Lonnie is an elder who also serves as the State Director for Louisiana Charter Schools USA. He has served in several churches through the years. He and his wife, Cristine, have three daughters: Kimmie Luce Wingerter, Lauren Luce Cain, and Abby Luce Jones.

Martin Moser, Lay Elder

Martin is a lay Elder who works a landscape architect and construction manager. Martin joined First Baptist in 2013, and served as a Deacon for many years. Martin and Emily have a son, Alden, and a daughter, Corinne. 

Doug Rhodes, Lay Elder

Doug is a retired Customer Service Manager with Entergy Louisiana. He leads one of our Connect Groups on Sunday mornings along with his wife. Doug and his wife, Sherry, have three children: Dusty, John Paul, and Robby; they also have three granddaughters and one grandson.

Lamar Tripp, Lay Elder

Lamar is a lay Elder who retired from a career as an operator in a local chemical plant. The Tripps have served in various ministries and leadership for many years. He and his wife Stephanie have seven children: Lucas, Todd, Jill Tripp Gullett, Collin, Adam, Elijah, and Grant.
